Misc. Catch Up

Ok, I am getting tired of catching up, so this entry brings me up to date...finally!
Over Labor Day weekend we finally finished re-painting our Kitchen. The wall paper is gone and it feels good. It only took 5 years!
Cora and Riley were introduced. They had fun and got along well. Pretty soon they will be 2 pees in a pod!

October 3rd was the Alzheimer's Memory Walk. It was good to see everyone. We raised 1500.00 dollars for research which is our best yet. We walk for a few who we miss tremendously, but have hope that research will help everyone who is effected by this disease.

We went at Brisco County for lunch Following the walk. It was good. I so love hanging out with my family! We missed the Magestro's and hope they can join us next year.

Oh Ricky...The End!

Grandmas 95th Birthday!

On August 30th we celebrated my Thursday Grandmas'95th birthday. It was a great celebration. Lisa, Brian and Uncle Joe came up from Florida. Uncle Marv, Aunt Suzi, Joey and Sara came up from Illinois. Everyone from Wisconsin was there, it was quite a party.

Happy Birthday!

Here is to the boys: Jeff, Uncle Marv, Brian and Joey

The Three Musketeers and Grandma. I am so thankful for my Aunt Suzi and my cousin Lisa for all the support and help they have given me. They are my girls!!

Lisa and Brian. I do not see them near enough.

Riley!

The end of August we took a road trip with Mom to South Dakota to pick up her new puppy. His name is Riley and he is a Springer Spaniel. We drove out on a Friday and back on Saturday. It was a lot of driving, but it was a great trip. We got to see new things and have a wonderful time at Sioux Falls Park.

Here we are upon departure. All aboard!!
YEA!! We are finally here!
Friday night we went to Falls Park. I had no idea it was so beautiful. Had I known we would have brought nice cloths and took family pictures. The Falls were amazing and I loved the old buildings and history behind them.

Well...this is a sight I have not seen many times in my life...sunrise! Saturday morning we picked Riley up at 0 dark hundred. The breeder had a family obligation, so it was an early morning.
Dirt roadMom seeing Riley for the first time! Kisses all around.

We began our journey home right when we left the breeders' house. He did great in the car and only wined for 10 minutes of a 9 hour trip...not bad at all!!

We made many pit stops...
Here is Riley at home.
It was a good trip and Mom has been having fun with him ever since!

Trombone

Scott is in 6th grade this year and so is required to take a music class. He decided to be in the Band and play the Trombone. He had a one week Band Camp in August where they learn the basics before school starts. This was a short concert they gave the last day of Camp. It was August 20th. They did a great job! Scott really plays well and I am excited to see him progress.

Gloede Housewarming Party

In August we had a housewarming party for Barb and John. this Summer they bought a house in the Town of Scott on a large wooded lot. It is a wonderful place for family get togethers where the kids can play in the woods and the adults can have bon fires. We have enjoyed visiting and look forward to many years of living vicariously through them! Love you guys!

Here is a look at their place...heaven

Kaitlyn in Nauvoo

In July the Young Women from our Ward took their annual trip to Nauvoo, Ill. This is the first year Kaitlyn has been in the program and able to go. She had a wonderful time and everyone came back with stronger testimonies. This year Jenna went with them and so we are privileged to have the photographs she took. She is a professional photographer and a former Laurel who we all as YW leaders love and miss! Thanks Jenna for these pictures...Kaitlyn didn't take any.

This is the Nauvoo Temple of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints
These are the girls who went. From the front row back is: Cheyenne, Kaitlyn, Nicole, Amber, Kendra, Becky, Bethany, Amy, Brooke, Emily, Jenny, and Jenna.
The girls had a full itinerary. One of the things they were able to do is a Handcart hike where they had to push a Handcart over rough terrain and work together to make it to the end. What an experience! Kaitlyn is the one in front on the right.
The city of Nauvoo has restored many old buildings from the Latter-Day Saints time there in the early 1800's. The girls were able to tour the buildings and learn about life back then.
Every evening there was a show of some kind. One night they saw the 2009 Pageant. The girls loved it!
The highlight of the trip was their time in the Temple. What a wonderful opportunity for them.
It was another good trip. Thanks Jenny for your dedication and sacrifice in taking the girls each year. We love you!!
